Children of Nazi parents will not be returned to them, court rules

A New Jersey couple that has been in the news in the past is back again, this time with news that they will not be allowed to be with their children again. The couple, from Holland Township, New Jersey, is self-proclaimed Nazis and named three of their four children after prominent ideas and individuals from Nazism.

The duo was first in the news in early 2009 when a store refused to decorate a birthday cake for their oldest child, Adolf Hitler Campbell. The now 6-year-old and his three siblings have been at the center of three-year child custody battle. The other three children are JoyceLynn Aryan Nation, 5; Honszlynn Hinler Jeanne, 6 and Hons, who was born in November 2011 and was taken away from his parents just hours after he was born.

In 2010, a state appeals court ruled that the children were at risk of abuse and neglect from their parents. This ruling was partially based on a history of domestic violence in the home which, according to court records, led to the mother slipping a note under the door of a neighbor that suggested she was afraid of her husband. According to that note, he had threatened to kill her. Similarly, the couple's oldest son was known to frequently make death threats.

The courts recently determined that the couple cannot have custody of their children. The couple is no longer together and the father has not seen his children in nearly a year. According to reports, the mother moved out of the state.

Despite the court's ruling, the father is still arguing that his children were removed because of the names their parents gave to them, not because of any risks. He went on to say that he would give up Nazism in order to have his children returned. He plans to appeal the ruling.
